RTF’s World Challenge Debut Leads To Series Points, Two Awards

RTF’s Jack Baruth made his World Challenge debut at the Watkins Glen season-ender. Despite being significantly down on power (and up on weight) compared to the BMW M235i coupes that dominate the TC class, Baruth made up multiple positions at the start and held on through a CV joint failure in the middle of the race to receive the Optima Batteries Best Start and VP Fuels Hard Charger Award.

This was a one-off for Baruth and RTF, who will be returning to NASA’s Honda Challenge for the rest of the year with an eye towards winning the regional championship for NASA Great Lakes and NASA Midwest. “It was the chance of a lifetime to run with the pros,” Baruth noted, “and I’m glad that we were able to have a successful race.”
