Madsen, Baldwin, Smith Join RTF Racing For This Weekend’s AER Double 9 Hour; Farah To Return

A schedule conflict between AER’s double nine-hour endurance race at NCM and the IMSA Continental Tire Series at Mosport has made our usual partnership with Conti team Motorsports In Action impossible for this weekend. As a result, we are pleased to welcome a trio of new drivers to our team and celebrate the return of The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah.

Kevin Madsen is a professional driver coach and multi-talented racer who currently holds several staff positions with Exotics Racing, Hooked On Driving, and other organizations. “We’ve been hoping to snag Kevin for one of these races ever since we started the team,” states team co-captain and founder Charley Baruth. “Losing drivers like Jesse Lazare and Eric Kerub for the weekend is an easier pill to swallow when we have access to a disciplined endurance racer with Kevin’s level of talent.” Kevin is excited to join RTF Racing with support from OMP America, Urban-Rebel Racing, Porterfield Brakes & Express Tire Distributor – the largest high performance Federal Tire supplier out of California.

Curtis Baldwin is an experienced SCCA and NASA competitor with decades of winning under his belt. He’s famous in the Midwest for his 525-horsepower LS3-powered NA Miata that runs in NASA’s Super Unlimited Class.

Patrick Smith is a former NASA National Champion who has campaigned a variety of Miatas in several classes since 2007.

This weekend, they will be joining Matt Farah and Charley Baruth in an AER “double-nine” in competition against no fewer than three other MX-5 Cup cars and approximately twenty other entrants. “We are looking for our third win in a row,” Charley notes. “I think we have the right team for the job.”
