In their third effort as a team running the MX-5 Cup Car, RTF Racing took a class win in Saturday’s American Endurance Racing nine-hour event. With strong stints from Larry Webster, Jack Baruth, Matt Farah, and Jesse Lazare, the team grabbed the lead early in the day and never looked back. A lightning-quick middle stint from 24 Hours of Daytona winner Jesse Lazare proved to be the heartbreaker for the competition, while a strong extended drive from Farah at the end held the lead to the checkered flag.
Charley Baruth, who managed the team for the weekend effort, had praise for the drivers and the crew of Josh Howard, Bozi Tatarevic, Lucio Oquendo, and Bojan Tatarevic. “Our pit stops were within a second or two of the legal minimum each time,” she noted, “and we executed for the whole day, error-free.”
RTF will return to American Endurance Racing with their Mid-Ohio event in October.
